Chandra Edward Psychotherapy

Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Wokingham and Online

I’m Chandra Edward, a BACP-registered psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist offering individual therapy for adults in Wokingham and Bracknell in Berkshire, and online.

Everyone faces difficult times. Sometimes feelings become overwhelming or hard to make sense of. Sometimes life looks successful from the outside, yet something feels missing, or you find yourself caught in the same patterns and reacting in ways you don’t fully understand. Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and begin to make sense of what is happening beneath the surface.

I Can Help With

Work-Related Stress & Burnout

Long hours, pressure and constant demands can leave you exhausted, even when things look fine from the outside. Drawing on my own background in a senior corporate role, I help you explore what sits beneath the pressure, including perfectionism, difficulty saying no, and where your sense of worth comes from.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like a constant undercurrent of worry or dread, and sometimes it seems to come from nowhere. Psychodynamic therapy looks beyond managing symptoms to understand what the anxiety may be communicating, and how earlier experiences shape the way you respond to uncertainty today.

Depression

Low mood, numbness and loss of energy can make everything feel heavy and pointless. Together we can make sense of what lies behind the low mood, such as unspoken loss, anger or old patterns, in a steady and unhurried space.

Low Self-Esteem

If you’re often self-critical or feel you’re never quite enough, therapy gives you room to understand what experiences and external voices shaped that inner voice. As we explore this, you may find you can relate to yourself with more kindness and focus on finding your own voice.

Bereavement

Grief doesn’t follow a timetable, and there’s no right way to feel. Therapy offers a space to talk about the person or thing you’ve lost and to explore the complicated feelings that often come with loss, at your own pace.

Family Difficulties

Family relationships can be some of the most meaningful and the most painful. We can explore the roles you’ve played, patterns that repeat, and how earlier relationships shape the ones we have now.

Unsure of Direction

You can be successful for years and still wake up feeling stuck, empty or unsure what you want.

Therapy gives you room to slow down, reconnect with what matters to you, and move towards a more authentic and fulfilling life.

How Psychodynamic Therapy Can Help

Psychodynamic therapy goes beyond the difficulties you notice day to day. Together we explore the feelings, experiences and relationships that have shaped you, including parts of yourself that may be hard to acknowledge. Patterns of thinking, feeling and relating often develop early. These formed to protect you, yet can keep shaping your life in ways that no longer feel helpful.

This is not about assigning blame to the past or others, but about understanding how it has shaped your present. With insight, there is often more room to notice familiar responses, see things differently and make choices that feel truer to who you are. Read more about my approach →

Working Together

Therapy is a collaborative process, shaped by your experiences and your pace. You don’t need to arrive with everything understood or neatly expressed. Sometimes finding the words for what you feel is the beginning of the work itself. My aim is to offer a space to explore your experiences without judgement, and to develop more understanding, freedom and choice.

Sessions are held in person in Wokingham and online via Zoom, for people in Wokingham, Bracknell and the surrounding area. See locations →
